watching the annual new york times square celebration - the ticker has news about the hanging of saddam hussein flashing by, a goofy made up boy-band called “the jersey boys” sings - frankie vali “oh what a night”… could it get any more strange than that?

apparently spelling isn’t a big priority at our institutions of higher learning - i.e. university of calgary. thousands of scholars have walked past this sign at the entrance to the student’s union building for about 4 years now - no one has fixed this sign.

the bookstores of universities offer a buy-back program with “up to 50% back” from the original price.
actual money returned from buy back program - $38.00
apparently the poor book companies change their editions annually so most books are only good for one semester each year, not much […]

without a doubt the funniest movie i’ve seen in recent memory is Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan. I don’t remember any movie that was literally a laugh a minute. The movie opens and it’s joke after joke, right to the finish.
