as luck would have it…

call me the “guesser” (not to be confused with gw bush’s – “the decider”) but i just had an inkling that friday might be the last riding day this year. when i came home from school the rain was nearly snow, and the temp was hovering around the zero mark.

the next day followed shortly thereafter with about 3 inches of snow. the white slippery stuff definitely seals the deal – the 2006 motorcycle riding season is done.

cleaned up the bike and cleaned out the crapolla in the garage. now the little viffer is ready for its winter nap.

sad, because so much of why i like to ride is its cathartic nature. when i’m done school each day a few minutes into the ride i feel completely renewed. i miss it so much every year, hopefully like the last few winters, this one is a short one. can’t wait to fire it up in the spring, do the cermonial burnout in the garage and start a brand new riding season.

riding truly grips some primal force and is exhilirating, challenging, fun, dangerous and exciting. all those experiences wrapped together are unlike most any other i’ve had – except fast cars or skiing/snowboarding.

also looking forward to being done school and being a teacher to spend part of every summer going to a new far-off destination on the bike. i think next time it’ll be somewhere in canada, maybe northern british columbia/yukon, although the warm sunny southwest of the US beckons me back for another round.
