New Riding Gear
I’ve recently bought a new motorcycle helmet an HJC CL-SP. Super comfortable, good fit and great ventilation.
The problem I’ve been experiencing on my new motorcycle was wind noise. I sit right at the top of the wind blast since i’m tall (6′1″) so the wind catches me just under the helmet and creates a boomy loudy constant noise.
I’d tried blocking ventilation slots on the helmet, fitting linings in the helmet, changing riding position and nothing seems to work, that is until this last weekend.
I bought the neoprene helmet gasket called a Windjammer II - Wind Blocker. Works fantastically well. It blocks off the bottom of the helmet and seals it around your face and neck preventing wind noise under the helmet. Check out proline sports - http://www.proline-sports.co.uk/ - the best 25.00 CAD I’ve spent since I started riding motorcycles.
The other investment was a set of custom moulded ear plugs. Mix a couple parts together and voila you’ve got your own 25 dB rated earplugs that fit perfectly in your ear. http://www.diycustomplugs.com/
Now I can roll down the highway for hours without the fatiguing noise and wind buffeting, so nice.
