one man band
last night was a fantastic show by matthew good. he’s currently on a cross-canada acoustic tour. you can recognize real talent in someone that can stand alone with an acoustic guitar and play songs without really sounding like they needed the rest of the band.
he’s able to deliver, sonically, essentially the same feeling and atmosphere with his solo performance as the many times i’ve seen him with a supporting cast.
makes me proud to be canadian when i see an artist that can speak out and creatively express themselves so well in a music industry, and a time, so currently devoid of real talent. also a talent that can carry out an interesting dialogue with 1500 people including reciting passages from the worst-case scenario books - which truly are great - “how to stop a runaway train”, “how to cross a pirhanna infested river”, etc.
well worth the admission if you get a chance to see the show in a city near you.
