no thanx, i’d rather not get $400
kay, i’m no rocket surgeon. but why on earth would someone not want $400 dollars. case in point, our province, the land of honalee, aka alberta is having money throwing fights ala monty burns and waylon smithers. peppering ourselves with money, rolling in filthy stinking rich oil revenues to the tune of about 8.8 billion dollars in surplus.
we’ve paid for everything and we’re going to have 8.8 billion leftover. so the gov’t, through our premier is returning 400 big ones to each and every person in the province - women, children, homeless or not, oh and men too.
people are actually pissed off about this. huh? it’s your money a-hole. we pay taxes. we own the resources in alberta. finally someone has decided to cut us a cheque for our share. what part of that is bad. it’s like a dividend cheque on investments.
people have been quoted in the media as saying it’s “stupid” and that they’ll refuse the cheques.
if you give someone $100 for something at the checkout counter and it only costs $85, shouldn’t you expect change. it’s really the same concept.
those with money that they are unwilling to accept can post comments with their contact info and i’ll gladly put their money to use for them…
