business lingo
years and years of meetings in an office environment and i still cringe when i hear the following -
“we’ll use a two-pronged approach”
“we’re really working outside the box on this one”
“when the rubber hits the road…”
“it’s all about shifting paradigms”
“getting our ducks in a row”
ugh, sentence after sentence goes by in these meetings full of acronyms and business-isms. painful. must, resist, must fight the mind-numbing stupidity… saying something for the sake of saying something or sounding remotely relevant. here’s a suggestion, just don’t say it.
