you can quote me on that
i’ve found a fascinating side-project of the wikipedia project. for the uninitiated, wikipedia is an online encyclopedia completely open to contribution by users of the internet, a collaborative encyclopedia if you will.
i’ve always been fascinated by “famous” people’s quotes. now, wiki has wikiquote a compendium of quotes that is searchable and once again contributed by users. extra cool.
here are a couple of favorites -
hunter s. thompson - “In a nation run by swine, all pigs are upward-mobile and the rest of us are fucked until we can put our acts together: Not necessarily to Win, but mainly to keep from Losing Completely.”
larry ellision, founder, oracle corporation - “If the Internet turns out not to be the future of computing, we’re toast. But if it is, we’re golden.”
jon stewart, the daily show - “Some people look at a glass and see it as half full, and other people look at a glass and say that it’s a dragon.” or “Religion. It’s given people hope in a world torn apart by religion.”
