Superfunkomatic - Observations of the Socially Inept

okay, truth be told - i’ve actually bought one camera with my significant other, and now, well i’ve bought another. we tried a point and shoot digital - and it’s good, but frankly just good for pointing and shooting at simple things (it’s a nikon coolpix 4100 - it’s a great camera, if you just want to aim and shoot at your unsuspecting victim). but now, we’ve invested in a nikon D70 and well, it’s fucking awesome - and yes, the expletive is required. it is fucking awesome.

i’ve carefully crafted my tax return (yes, revenue canada it’s all done with you in mind, and to prevent the anal probe that is an audit) and i’ve received my refund. so i dropped the whole thing, and a few hundred more on the camera. now, my life is consumed by photographing everything, and i mean everything - my dogs have become jaded little so and so’s - “what another picture? we’re going to have to start charging you money for these” is what they’ve been saying.

i can honestly say that photography, in a digital form has become my new passion and obsession much like the web and web development did around 7 years ago. it is amazing the level of detail and the quality of photo the camera can take - now i need to get me some training. i figure if a monkey like me with zero training can do this, think how frickin’ dangerous i’d be if i knew what i was doing. now i have a pastime to while away my time. it involves computers, photoshop and learning a new creative outlet - what could be better than that?
